How to Report to the ICR

Facilities required to report to the Iowa Cancer Registry (ICR) may employ registrars with ICR-approved training or contract with the ICR or an outside vendor to submit reportable cancer cases and required data elements to the ICR. As needed for cancer surveillance activities, the ICR shall have remote electronic access, where available, to all cancer-relevant medical records. For those facilities required to report and do not employ ICR staff, you shall submit required data to the ICR monthly, in an electronic format specified by the ICR [IAC 641 – 1.4(3d) (135, 139A)] Please contact the ICR for more details about acceptable methods to report cancer cases to the ICR.
