The Iowa Cancer Registry (ICR) is a member of the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program. As such, the ICR follows the casefinding and reporting requirements established by NCI SEER.
Casefinding is the process of identifying all reportable cases through review of source documents and case listings. Casefinding covers the range of cases that need to be assessed to determine whether or not a case is reportable. Reportable cases are those required to be reported to NCI SEER. The “Reportable Diagnosis List” provided by SEER includes all diagnoses considered reportable.
