Electronic Pathology Reporting (Epath)

Pathology reports are a primary way for cancer data specialists to find reportable cancers. The Iowa Cancer Registry (ICR) works with hospitals and freestanding laboratories across the state of Iowa to assist them in sending electronic pathology reports to the ICR using a secure electronic file transfer system. Establishing electronic pathology reporting to the ICR is one way to meet the requirement for rapid reporting of cancer and helps assure completeness in reporting cancer in the Iowa population. To find out how to establish electronic pathology reporting of cancer cases to the Iowa Cancer Registry, contact us at ICR-EPATH-HELP@uiowa.edu.
