Cancer Data Tools

There are a number of tools to assist you in finding cancer-related information for Iowans:

Iowa Cancer Data Tool

This interactive Iowa cancer data tool allows users to compute case counts, incidence and mortality rates for specific cancer sites by year of diagnosis, age, gender, race and county. Data can be displayed in tabular form, or depicted in maps or bar charts. The tool was developed by the Kentucky Cancer Registry and is updated annually.

SEER*Stat

For people who want to work with cancer data from all SEER Registries to perform more complex or in-depth analyses, the SEER*Stat application provides a convenient mechanism to access and analyze the data.

The SEER*Stat website provides information on how to get started, including information and links to completing a SEER Research Data Agreement which is required before any data can be accessed.

The website also provides step-by-step tutorials on how to use SEER*Stat and calculate the many statistics available.
